In this CPR course, you will learn these skills, in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, including using an automated external defibrillator (AED), how to rotate first aiders with minimal interruptions to compressions, and what to do if the casualty regurgitates or vomits.

HLTSS00064 - Infection control Skill Set
Individuals successfully completing HLTSS00064 Infection control Skill Set will follow established organisation infection prevention and control procedures, which will include:
Hand hygiene and care of hand,
Use of personal protective equipment,
Handling of waste,
Enforcing clean and contaminated zones,
Limitation of contamination,
Surface cleaning.

This training in this course allows you to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to firstly recognise potentially hazardous manual tasks and the sources of risks and risk factors. Then prepare for and apply controls to complete these tasks using manual handling techniques which support safe work practice.
Assist clients with medication
HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication.
The skills in this course apply to community services and health workers with authority in their state or territory to assist with the administration of medication and must be used in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.
Recognise healthy body systems
HLTAAP001 - Recognise healthy body systems
Participants will learn about the basic structure and functions of the body systems and associated components, the processes, conditions and resources required by the body to support healthy functioning, protection from infection and active and passive physical activity.
Non - Accredited Course for Support Workers
Complex bowel care
Non accredited - Complex bowel care.
The Complex Bowel Care course covers the skills and knowledge required for those who provide personal support as part of routine care. It includes information on normal stool appearance; how to identify symptoms which require action, timing of intervention (how long before action is taken) and the type of action required.
Seizure Management
Non accredited - Seizure Management.Set
This non-accredited seizure course provides the skills and knowledge to an individual who works with people who have seizures. This support role does not typically require specialist skills, provided the support worker has an understanding about the procedures to follow. Where a support worker administers epilepsy medication such a Midazolam, they also need training in medication specific emergency management procedures.
Enteral feeding and management
Non accredited - Enteral feeding and management.
The Enteral Feeding and Management course provide the skills and knowledge to an individual who is supporting a person who is reliant on Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding and can be part of a general support worker role.
Stoma Care
Non accredited - Stoma Care.
Non-accredited course content will be guided by the NDIS High-intensity support skill activity: Stoma Care.
Medication Administration
Non accredited - Medication Administration.
The course applies to individuals working in various care and support roles in the community and health services industry who wish to develop skills in supporting people to self-administer medication and completing medication documentation.
The course content has been guided by the WA HACC Program’s Medication Policy Framework and Guidelines.
Urinary catheters
Non accredited - Urinary catheters
The Urinary Catheter course provides the skills and knowledge to an individual who is required to replace and dispose of bags and monitor the health of people using indwelling and suprapubic catheters, which can be part of a general support worker role.
